Community is very important to us. We may be in the coffee business, but our real mission is in the people business. Bringing people together, building and fostering human connections is at the heart of what we do. You will find the Weird Brothers Coffee team out and involved in our local communities year round. We have collaborated with many different local organizations and other small businesses.
The Chris Atwood Foundation
The Chris Atwood Foundation is a peer-driven community organization in Northern Virginia providing free harm reduction and recovery support services and advocacy for people impacted by substance use. The foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable organization that creates recovery ready communities through free harm reduction and recovery support services, resources and education.
Their core mission is educating the community about the disease of addiction and creating recovery ready communities. The Chris Atwood Foundation has successfully been working towards these goals through their tireless work and groundbreaking community initiatives. Weird Brother Coffee began working with the Chris Atwood Foundation when the owner, Paul's brother and Co-Founder Kenny succumbed to an overdosed in 2017. In 2022, Weird Brothers Coffee created the Recovery Blend in collaboration with the Chris Atwood Foundation. 20% of the proceeds from each bag of this coffee will go to the foundation. At Weird Brothers we are not only proud to collaborate and work with River-Sea Chocolates but to call them friends. We have collaborated on many products over the years but one of the most popular has been the Princess of Power Coffee and Cacao blend. The inspiration behind the blend are all of the strong and incredible women in our lives that have always worked so hard make this world a better place. They are the true princesses of power! In 2022 we welcomed local 501(c)3 cancer fighting organization. the Step Sisters into the collaboration. The Step Sisters fight breast cancer differently – by raising funds to provide practical support services for area patients as they battle the disease. Weird Brothers Coffee donates 20% of the proceeds of the Princess of Power to the Step Sisters organization so that they can help women and their families who are going through breast cancer treatment. Supporting Local Schools & Organizations
One of the collaborative programs we are most proud of is our continuing involvement as a Work Awareness Training sponsor for Herndon High School. Weird Brothers hosts neuro-diverse student interns during the school year, giving them a place to work and learn in a real business environment. We also support their own little coffee business at the high school they aptly call themselves "Brewing Independence"!

Weird Brothers Coffee also supports local school sports, music, and theater arts programs. Not only do we work in our community but we live here too. We have kids that go to the local schools and many team members who are local school alumni. We believe that supporting local sports and arts are a foundational principle. Not only do these enriching activities get kids out and about, but they are building character and skills that will help them all make this world a better place!

Brewers in Bars Getting Coffee
We collaborated with local Northern Virginia Micro Breweries, Fair Winds Brewing and Old Ox Beer to create a delicious coffee infused Baltic Porter we called Brewers in Bars Getting Coffee. We created a custom coffee blend just for the brew. We had the most amazing time working with the brewers and reflecting upon all of the different collaborative community work we all do.
